POWERADE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:

JUSTIN GVORA, MEN’S HOCKEY

Gvora, a third-year from Thunder Bay, Ont. scored seven points last week as the Guelph Gryphons posted a pair of wins over the Brock Badgers in their three-game OUA playoff series. In game one of the series the 6-foot-1 centre earned an assist as the Gryphons defeated Brock 3-2. On Friday, in a 4-3 loss for the Gryphons Gvora ignited a comeback rally against the Badgers scoring a goal. He followed that up on Sunday night in the third and deciding game, scoring a hat-trick and two assists in the series clinching 8-5 win to eliminate Brock. This was his second five-point game this season. The Gryphons now advance to the OUA quarter-finals where they will a best-of-three series with the Laurier Golden Hawks.
