The Gryphons Men's Soccer team is red hot heading into the OUA playoffs and racked up a pair of wins this past weekend. One player who has been a big part of the team's success is second year midfielder Jalen Noronha. The Wellesley, ON native has provide the Gryphons with a solid attacking option on the right side. In Guelph's 1-0 win over rivals Laurier on Friday (Oct. 23) Noronha was at his best, producing an all-around effort that head coach Keith Mason described as "first-class."
Two days later, in the regular season finale against McMaster at Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton, Noronha was impressive once again, scoring the match-winning goal in the 67th minute, breaking a 2-2 tie and propelling the Gryphons to a 4-2 victory. Noronha, much like the team as a whole, seems to be rounding into form in the perfect time of the year. The second year midfielder has three goals on the season, all of which have come within the last five matches of the regular season schedule. The Gryphons Men's Soccer team will play host to Western on Wednesday, October 28 with kickoff set for 7pm at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.
