Friday night in Sudbury, fourth year guard Jack Beatty (Woodstock, Ont.) did a bit of everything for the Gryphon men’s basketball team in an 85-69 win over Laurentian. Beatty finished the night with a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds, as well as picking up a pair of assists and steals. Gryphon fans have become accustomed to Jack’s ability to create instant offence off of the bench. That was the case once again on Friday night as Beatty’s shots were falling from everywhere. His 20 points came on four of seven shooting from the field, two of three from beyond the arc, and a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line. The 6’2 guard is also known for the great energy and effort he brings on a nightly basis, which was reflected Friday in his 10 rebounds (nine of which came on the defensive end). On the season, Beatty ranks third on the Gryphons averaging just under 10 points per game.
