GUELPH, Ont. - A total of five student-athletes from the Guelph Gryphons men's lacrosse program
were named CUFLA (Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association) West Division All-Canadians on Thursday, November 2, 2023. The five selections from the Gryphons marked the highest number of All-Canadians from any of the eight universities that make up the CUFLA West Division.
Liam Aston, Robbie Baxter,
Kyle Detweiler,
Jake Cook and
Nolan Schott all were named CUFLA West All-Canadians after helping lead the Gryphons men's lacrosse team to an impressive 2023 season, which included an 8-2 regular season record, followed by a playoff win over McMaster to earn a spot in the 2023 Baggataway Cup (national championship tournament). The Gryphons men's lacrosse team will get their 2023 Baggataway Cup tournament underway on Friday (Nov. 3) with a national quarterfinal matchup versus the McGill Redbirds. The Gryphons have won five national titles in program history, with the last coming in 2014. The 2023 Baggataway Cup tournament is being hosted by Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, with
games streamed live online at LacrosseTV.
