Kayla Goodhoofd (Oakville, ON) put together a solid game for the Gryphon's, scoring 12 points and showing good creativity with the ball. Kate MacTavish (Waterloo, ON) added 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench, and Jasmine Douglas(Guelph, ON) added eight points to go with her game high 14 rebounds.

Toronto set the tempo right away, forcing 10 first quarter turnovers, but still trailed 19-18 after the first due to poor shot selection early on. The Gryphon's were able to capitalize on the overzealous Blues, getting to the free-throw line 14 times in the opening quarter, making 11.

An early 7-0 run put Toronto ahead early in the second quarter before Guelph answered back with an 8-0 run of their own to take a 27-25 lead. Toronto would end the quarter on a 7-2 run to go into halftime with a 34-29 lead. Sherri Pierce (Brampton, ON) led all scorers at half with nine points, while the Gryphon's had three scorers all with six points.

The third quarter saw both teams trading baskets as neither squad could put any separation between the other. The Blues continued to hound the Gryphon's with their defence, holding the usually hot-shooting Gryphon's to just 12% from three-point range.

In the fourth, the Gryphon's made one final push, with a three-point play from Samantha Russell(Paradise Valley, AZ) to close within three points. Toronto responded with an 8-2 run, thanks in large part to Stratton's 11 fourth quarter points, crushing any chance at a Gryphon comeback.

The Gryphon's will look to get back above .500 when they take on the Carleton Ravens Friday, November, 25 at the W.F. Mitchell Centre. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
