Biography

# 11 Samantha Russell Sam Russell grew up in Paradise Valley, Arizona, where she helped lead her competitive club team, the Arizona Thunder, to seven consecutive state champion titles. In the 2008-2009 season, Sam was named the OUA west rookie of the year. Currently, she is in her second year here at the university as a bio-medical science major. Sam has a lot to contribute to the Gryphons, including her competitive and hard-working nature, her aggressive defence, and her unparalleled ability to score. With her flawless footwork and soft touch around the basket, Sam is a dangerous threat both inside and outside of the key. Sam with undoubtedly make a powerful impact on the Gryphons this season.
