Maeve Sutherland-Case vs Brock
The Gryphons women's hockey team face a tough test right out of the gates in the quarterfinal stage of the McCaw Cup playoffs when they take on the Waterloo Warriors in the 2-versus-3 matchup in the OUA West Division. Both the Gryphons and Warriors split their season series with the home team winning each matchup. Guelph is looking to bounce back after dropping their final two games of the regular season on the road to drop down to the No. 2-seed but will have home ice advantage in this series. The Gryphons are led by their captain Katherine Heard who finished 6th in the conference with 24 points and Maeve Sutherland-Case, the team leader with 13 goals on the season. The Warriors are coming into this series on a 4-game win streak with their last loss coming at the Gryphon Centre to the Gryphons on January 28. The Warriors, last season's U SPORTS silver medalists, boast plenty of experienced forwards up front who can impact a series led by last year's Player of the Year Carly Orth who leads Waterloo with 22 points on the season. Tatum James, Nikki McDonald, and Keiara Raitt will test a strong Gryphon defence that has conceded the second fewest goals in the OUA (32). This matchup will see two of the OUA's best in goal square off in Sophie Helfenstein and Kara Mark, last year's Goaltender of the Year. The best-of-three series begins on Wednesday night with the winner advancing and crossing over to face the winner of the series between the Queen's Gaels and Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. While the Gryphons fight for their playoff lives, the Waterloo Warriors women's hockey team enter this week's series knowing that they will receive an automatic bid to nationals, as Waterloo will serve as the hosts of the national championship tournament for a second consecutive season, with the 2026 U SPORTS Women's Hockey Championships, held at the Elmira Woolwich Memorial Centre, set to take place March 19-22.

Olivier Ciarlo vs Laurier
After opening their postseason accord with 2-1 series win over the Laurier Golden Hawks, the Gryphons men's hockey team continues their journey in the Queen's Cup playoffs with a matchup with the No. 1-seed in the OUA West Division, Windsor Lancers. The Gryphons fresh off a 4-0 shutout in Game 3 on Sunday night (Feb. 22) won't have much rest following their series win with the first two games of this best-of-three series on Wednesday (Feb. 25) and Thursday night (Feb. 26) while the Lancers are coming off a bye week as one of the top two seeds in OUA West Division. Guelph will need to reverse the trend if they are to advance as Windsor has won all three regular season meetings. The Gryphs do enter this best-of-3 series with momentum on their side led by their first-year goalie Olivier Ciarlo. Ciarlo was phenomenal in the series against Laurier with a .938 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.68 as he's coming off his first career shutout in OUA in Game 3, stopping all 30 shots. Jack Wismer leads the team with 4 postseason assists while Justin Barker has two goals and an assist to his name in the playoffs. Olivier Ciarlo will be tested against the Lancers who have scored the most goals (105) in the OUA during the regular season. Windsor is led up front by Colton Smith and Keegan McMullen who both led the conference with 21 goals this season. They are flanked by the team's leading point getters in Logan Linklater (32) and Aaron Shaw (31). Windsor's goalie Max Donoso has appeared in all 28 games for the Lancers this season and won 18 games to go along with his .920 save percentage, 2.22 GAA and 3 shutouts. The winner of this series advances to play the winner of the other OUA West Division quarterfinal between the TMU Bold and Brock Badgers.
