Top 10 Rankings (Feb. 10, 2026): Three Gryphon Teams Ranked Nationally in Latest Rankings

GUELPH, Ont. –  On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the U SPORTS office released their latest national rankings for the 2025-26 season with three University of Guelph varsity teams headlining the latest rankings. Men's and women's track and field teams remains in top spot as the No. 1-ranked track and field teams in the country while women's hockey continues to climb in the latest rankings, rising one spot to No. 4. Track and Field: Men and Women No. 1
 
The Gryphons men's and women's track and field teams continues to maintain their No. 1 ranking in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 as the top track and field team in the country. The Gryphons track program was in Windsor over the weekend (Feb. 6-7) for the Lancer Team Challenge. Jen Elizarov continues to raise the bar in the women's pole vault as she set a new U SPORTS and school record with a new benchmark set at 4.37m. Elizarov, the fifth-year biomedical engineering major broke her own record she set at last year's U SPORTS Track and Field Championships when she cleared 4.35m in her gold medal winning jump. Also at the meet, Rebecca Parker posts a time of 8.37 in the women's 60m hurdles to qualify for her third event at nationals. The Windsor native has already secured her spot in Winnipeg for pentathlon and long jump. Dani Allen (women's high jump), Keon Rude (men's 60m), women's 4x800m relay team and both men's and women's 4x200m relay teams have earned their spot in the 2026 U SPORTS Track and Field Championships. Next up for the Gryphons track and field team, they'll host the Guelph Last Chance Meet from the Fieldhouse and some will head to Boston for David Hemery Valentine Invitational with both meets taking place on Feb. 14 before they compete in Toronto for the OUA Track and Field Championships (Feb. 20-21).
 
Women's Hockey: No. 4
 
The Gryphons women's hockey team continues to make moves in the latest national rankings, moving up a spot to No. 4. Guelph played host to the York Lions on Friday night (Feb. 6) and Brock Badgers (Feb. 7) in their final two home games of the regular season where they extended their win streak to 6 games, sweeping the weekend home back-to-back. The Gryphs scored three goals in the 2nd period, including a pair of goals from Katie Dance in a span of 1:45 defeat the York Lions 3-1 on Friday night. A goal barrage from the Gryphons the following night saw them find the net eight times, including a pair of goals from Maeve Sutherland-Case and Michelle Gao as they shutout the Brock Badgers 8-0. Sophie Helfenstein made 18 saves for her league leading 8th shutout on the season in the win. The Gryphons gain sole possession of the OUA West Division lead with 57 points and a record of 19-2-3. The women's hockey team closes out the regular season this week when they head to Thorold on Thursday night (Feb. 12) for a rematch with the Brock Badgers before they close out the regular season in Waterloo on Saturday night (Feb. 14) when they take on the Laurier Golden Hawks who are three points back of Guelph in the OUA West.
