TORONTO, Ont. - On Monday, November 24, 2025, the U SPORTS office released its latest national rankings for the 2025-26 season. The Guelph Gryphons women's hockey team is the lone U of G varsity program in this week's rankings, dropping two spots to No. 5 in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 polls. The Gryphons
were in Ottawa for a pair of road games in the nation's capital over the weekend where they defeated the Ottawa Gee-Gees in overtime on Friday (Nov. 21) but fell in overtime on Saturday (Nov. 22) to the Carleton Ravens for the weekend split. On Friday night against the Gee-Gees,
Alexie Olivier scored :22 seconds into overtime to secure the 3-2 win for Guelph.
Sophie Helfenstein made 23 saves in the win while
Deija Houston and
Michelle Gao found the back of the net. The following night against the Ravens,
Michelle Gao scored late in the third to send the game into overtime but the Ravens would earn the bonus point, scoring on a deflection for the 2-1 win.
Alysse Wilkinson stopped 26 of 28 shots on the night. Guelph remain in top spot in the OUA West division with an 11-1-2 record on the regular season. The No. 5-ranked Gryphons will close out their first half of the season in North Bay on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 29) when they take on the Nipissing Lakers.
