OTTAWA, Ont. – The No. 3-ranked Gryphons women's hockey team split a pair of games during a weekend trip to the nation's capital, with a Friday night (Nov. 21) matchup with the Ottawa Gee-Gees followed by a Saturday night (Nov. 22) matchup at the Carleton Ravens. The Gryphons beat the Gee-Gees 3-2 in overtime, before falling to the Carleton Ravens, 2-1 in overtime, on Saturday night. Guelph's record is now 11-1-2 on the season, with the team back in action on November 29 at Nipissing.

The first of back-to-back games in the nation's capital saw the Gryphons women's hockey team pick up a 3-2 overtime win on Friday night (Nov. 21) at the University of Ottawa. Gryphons fourth-year forward,
Alexie Olivier, scored :22 seconds into OT, securing the 3-2 win for Guelph, and pushing the Gryphons record on the season to 11-1-1. With the loss, the Ottawa Gee-Gees fell to 7-3-2 on the season.
Sophie Helfenstein made 23 saves on 25 shots for the win in the Gryphon net, while the Gryphons also received goals from
Deija Houston and
Michelle Gao on the night.
Saturday, Nov. 22 at Carleton | Guelph Gryphons at Carleton Ravens (Carleton wins 2-1 in OT)
A goal 4:21 into overtime ended the Gryphons' undefeated road start to the 2025–26 season, as Carleton's Hayden Serniuk scored her third of the year to lift the Ravens to a 2–1 OT victory over Guelph on Saturday night in Ottawa. Before the dramatic finish, the two teams played a tight, low-scoring game with Carleton opening the scoring early in the 3rd when Erica Buckley struck on the power play for her fourth goal of the season, giving the Ravens a 1–0 lead. Guelph answered back late in regulation, with
Michelle Gao scoring her third goal of the season at 16:46 to send the game to overtime tied at 1–1. Carleton's OT-winner came off an unfortunate break for the Gryphons, with a re-directed puck from in close trickling through the five-hole of Gryphons goalie
Alysse Wilkinson. Wilkinson turned aside 26 of 28 shots on the night, while Carleton goalie Kaitlyn Langille impressed with 36 saves on the night. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 11-1-2 on the season (1st in OUA West), while Carleton improves to 3-8-2.
