GUELPH, Ont. – The Gryphons women's hockey team played host to their final two home games before the winter break as they fell in overtime to the Windsor Lancers on Friday night (Nov. 14) before bouncing back with a shutout victory on Saturday night (Nov. 15) over the Carleton Ravens.
Friday, Nov. 14, 2025 | Gryphons See Their Five Game Win Streak End in Tough OT Loss
The Gryphons suffered a tough overtime loss on Friday night as Lerissa Stevenson scored the overtime winner for the Windsor Lancers in their 2-1 win. The Lancers got out to an 1-0 lead in the first period on the goal from Teghan Pare. The Gryphons would apply plenty of pressure towards the Windsor net as they pressed for the tying goal but were unable to solve Ella Willouhby. The breakthrough for the Gryphons would come midway through the third period when
Myriam Parnell scored her second goal of the season to tie it up. The game would head into overtime as the Gryphons were shorthanded, Lerissa Stevenson scored on the 4-on-3 power play to give Windsor the win. Ella Willouhby made 32 saves for the visitors, including stopping 24 of 25 shots in the 2nd and 3rd periods.
Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025 | Gryphons Respond on Home Ice with Shutout Victory over Ravens
The Gryphons were back on the Gryphon Centre ice the following night to take on the Carleton Ravens as they picked up their 6th shutout win the season, defeating the Ravens 4-0. It didn't take long for the Gryphons to jump out to an early lead as
Myriam Parnell scores her second goal in as many games to open the scoring, 3:10 into the game.
Maeve Sutherland-Case would double the lead late in the period, scoring her 7th goal of the season on the power play.
Deija Houston added a pair of goal in the middle frame, scoring her 5th and 6th of the season to clinch the 4-0 win on home ice.
Sophie Helfenstein wasn't called upon much in the Gryphon net, stopping all 16 shots for her 4th shutout on the season.
The Gryphons (10-1-1) will make the trip north to the nation's capital for a pair of games against the Ottawa schools this weekend when they take on the Ottawa Gee-Gee's on Friday night (Nov. 21) before making their way to the Ice House to faceoff with the Carleton Ravens on Saturday (Nov. 22).
