GUELPH, Ont. – Five student-athletes from the Guelph Gryphons men's lacrosse team have been named CUFLA (Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association) West Division All-Canadians and major award winners. The Gryphons men's lacrosse team,
who were recently crowned national champions, also had seven student-athletes named to the "2025 Baggataway Cup All-Tournament Team" following the national championship tournament which took place Nov. 7-9 in Brampton. Will MacLeod,

Team of the Year after they went 9-1 in the regular season while scoring the most goals and conceding the fewest during the regular season and followed it up by going 3-0 in the playoffs by defeating Brock and Nipissing in the Baggataway Cup to claim their 6th national title in program history. Will MacLeod – MVP and League's Leading Scorer
Will MacLeod in his first season with the Gryphons men's lacrosse team made an instant impact as the 2025 CUFLA MVP and leading scorer. MacLeod, the Robert Morris University transfer, was sensational for the Gryphons this season becoming the fourth Gryphon in program history to be named MVP and second Gryphon to the lead the league in scoring. The Stoney Creek, Ontario native in his 10 regular season games, led the league with 45 goals and 71 points and scored 7 goals in the playoffs. The history major was also named an All-Canadian in attack.
Liam Aston – Outstanding Graduating Player
Liam Aston has been named the 2025 CUFLA Outstanding Graduating Player following another fantastic season helping lead a prolific Gryphon attack. The fourth-year team captain is the fifth Gryphon to be named the league's Outstanding Graduating Player. The management economics and finance major surpassed last season's benchmark as the second leading scorer in CUFLA with 57 points in the regular season to go along with his 25 goals. Aston in the playoffs scored 6 goals and had 12 points. The Ottawa native was also named an All-Canadian for the third consecutive season.
Nolan Schott – Outstanding Defender of the Year
Fifth-year defender
Nolan Schott has been named the 2025 CUFLA Outstanding Defender of the Year. It marks the fourth time a Gryphon has earned the honour and the first since 2007. The Whitby, Ontario native is regarded as one of the premier defenders in CUFLA, helping guide the Gryphons to the fewest goals conceded (61) in the regular season. Schott also contributed offensively with 3 points and goal during the regular season. The criminal justice and public policy major was also named to the CUFLA West All-Canadian team, marking the third consecutive season he has earned All-Canadian status.
Joe Columbus – Outstanding Faceoff Specialist
In only his second season with the Gryphons, Joe Columbus earned the honour as CUFLA's Outstanding Faceoff Specialist. Columbus, the mechanical engineering major has shown his dominance in the faceoff circle all season, helping lead his team to a national championship. The Fergus, Ontario native during the regular season had 3 points on the season and scored a goal against Brock as he won the subsequent face off and took it to the house for a goal. Columbus for the second consecutive season was named an All-Canadian at his faceoff specialist position.
Logan Pagano – Outstanding Goalie of the Year
Logan Pagano has earned Outstanding Goalie of the Year honours after leading his side to a national championship. Pagano becomes the fifth Gryphon to take home the award and the sixth time in program history that a Gryphon has been recognized. The third-year Toronto native had a league best 8-1 record in the regular season, only conceding 60 goals for one of the top defensive teams in CUFLA. The marketing management major for the first time was recognized as a CUFLA West All-Canadian.
