GUELPH, ON - Wednesday night at Varsity Field, the Guelph Gryphons field hockey team improved to 6-0 on the season with a 6-0 win over the Waterloo Warriors. With the loss, Waterloo falls to 1-3-1.
After a convincing 7-1 win over the Warriors back on September 17th in what was the season opener for both teams, the Warriors and Gryphons met for the second time this season on Wednesday night with Guelph once again controlling play from start to finish.
The Gryphons had four different goal scorers on the night, but leading the way was rookie
Stephanie Kingsley (Ajax, ON) who recorded a hat trick on the night.
Katherine MacMillan,
Olivia Finch and
Olivia Lane rounded out the scoring on the night.
The Gryphons have six games remaining on the regular season schedule and will now prepare for a weekend trip to Kingston where they will face the York Lions (3-1) and McGill Martlets (0-3) on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
