GUELPH, ON - Saturday afternoon in rainy conditions at Varsity Field, the Gryphons field hockey team won 7-1 over the Waterloo Warriors in what was the OUA regular season opener for both teams.

Olivia Lane and Melissa Vogl each scored a pair of goals for the Gryphons who led 3-1 at the half before pouring in four more goals in the second half to pull away with a 7-1 victory.

Other goal scorers on the day for the Gryphons were Rebecca Plouffe, Katherine MacMillan and Olivia Finch.

The Gryphons (1-0) will play two more games on Sunday when they face Queen's (9am) and Western (12:30pm).
