Set two saw McMaster jump out to an early four point lead and they opened it up further in the middle of the set to tie the match with a 25-18 win. The third set was a carbon copy of the previous set with the Marauders leading early and maintaining a comfortable lead in winning 25-19. Set 4 started better for Guelph as they led by 3 early on. McMaster forged ahead 16-13 at the technical timeout and opened up an insurmountable lead to take the set and the match at 25-20.

Coach Funk said, "Mac did a great job of putting pressure on us with serve and they never let us get on a run in the last 3 sets. Against a team like that, you need to win the serve and receive battle and we weren't able to do that tonight." Maddie DeDecker led the offense again with 15 points (13 kills, 2 aces) followed by Nicole Collard (5 kills, 2 aces, 3 blocks) and Becky Breau (9 kills, 1 ace) with 10 each. The Gryphons end the first half schedule with a 6-4 record, good for 2nd place in the OUA's West Division.
