WOMEN'S FIELD HOCKEY: Guelph gets 2 wins against Western and McGill
 
Despite a 2-0 deficit, the Gryphons rallied with 3 second half goals to upend Western 3-2. Laura Straus (Waterloo, ON) initiated the retaliation 5 minutes after the break converting on a penalty corner to reduce the gap.
Fifty-one minutes into the contest, Crysta Stubbs (Whitney, ON) found the back of the cage assisted by Alexis Wagner Guelph, ON)  and Nicole Paola (Waterloo, ON), this marked rookie Stubbs first OUA league goal as a Gryphon. Not a minute later, Erin Houle (Burlington, ON) made an excellent steal on a Western 16 yard hit and found an open Daniela Jelec (Mississauga, ON) who slipped the ball behind the Mustangs net minder for the game winner en route to a 3-2 victory.
 
A few hours later, the Gryphons blanked McGill 6-0 with a short bench scoring 4 penalty corner goals. Stubbs put the Gryphs on the scoreboard 17 minutes into the play for her second marker on the day. Shortly after, Straus sniped her second for the insurance marker and a 2-0 half-time lead. After the intermission, Paola and Wise scored in action while Jacqui Tonkin (Esperance, Australia) notched two for her first league goals as a Gryphon.
 
Next up, Guelph travels to Kingston to take on the Queen's Golden Gaels on Saturday at 10:45 am and Toronto on Sunday at 10:45 am.
