Gryphons continue to roll defeating Waterloo 5-1

The Gryphons added another mark to the win column with a 5-1 victory over the Waterloo Warriors this afternoon at Downsview Park in Toronto.  The Gryphons improve their record to 8-1.

Brittany Seidler (Oliver, BC) put the Gryphs on the scoreboard one minute into the contest. She stole the ball off the Warriors and made a 40-yard run for her league leading 19th goal of the season. At 20:00, rookie Erin Houle (Burlington, ON) scored on well-executed give and go play with Seidler which turned out to be the game winner. Before the half, Sam Anderson (Delta, BC) found an open Amy Wise (Surrey, BC) on a penalty corner to increase the margin to three at the break.

In the second half, Anderson walked the ball into the circle on a penalty corner and found Houle open at the stroke mark for her second marker. Minutes later the Warriors retaliated with their lone goal of the game. With a minute to play, Seidler set up sophomore Laura Gordon (Cambridge, ON) to increase the gap by 5-1 for the final outcome. Houle, captain Courtney Lacey (Guelph, ON) and Alison Little (Toronto, ON) had very strong performances for Guelph.
