First year centre Scott Simmonds had four points in a pair of wins for the Gryphons men's hockey team, who came back to win their OUA semi-final series with Toronto after dropping Game 1. Simmonds, who had seven goals during the regular season, provided the finishing touches by scoring the third goal in Guelph's 3-1 win over U of T on Saturday (Feb. 21). On Sunday (Feb. 22), the Uxbridge, Ontario native opened the scoring in Game 3 of the series with a power play goal, and later added two assists to finish with a three-point night. Thanks in large part to Simmonds, the Gryphons have reached the OUA Final Four for the first time since the 2010-2011 season.
