Nine Gryphon golfers are set to take to the links in Ottawa to represent the University of Guelph at the 2026 OUA Golf Championships as both the men's and women's team seek a return to the provincial podium.

The Gryphons will run it back for a third consecutive season with Jacqueline Giles, Ela Jones, Ava Crane and Kennedy Bergeron set to represent the Gryphons on the women's side, where the top three scores from the four women's golfers will count in the overall standings. The men's side will see Will Drewery, Will Dodd, Carson Skinner, Andreas Diogenous and Caleb Shorthouse represent the Gryphons, with the top four scores from the five U of G golfers counting in the final standings.

Two years ago, the Gryphons women's golf team took home the silver medal at the 2024 OUA Golf Championships for the best finish in program history. This will be the third consecutive season where the quartet of Jacqueline Giles, Ela Jones, Ava Crane and Kennedy Bergeron have represented the Gryphons at the provincial championships. The group finish in 4th-place at last year's championships, and in the spring of 2026, made their way to Quebec for nationals where they finished a program-best 7th in the final team standings. Jacqueline Giles, the only U of G women's golfer ever to be named an OUA individual champion after winning back in 2021, has had another great season, winning the Western Invitational to go along with a pair of 2nd-place finishes and two top five finishes. Fourth-year golfer Ela Jones, a three-time OUA All-Star, has had another strong season in 2026, finishing in 2nd-place at the Toronto Invitational and has three top five placings. Kennedy Bergeron (Whitby, ON) has four top 20 finishes this season and Ava Crane (Toronto, ON) has three top 20 placings heading into the OUA Championships.

Will Drewery at Fall Kickoff

The Gryphons men's team sees OUA All-Stars Will Drewery and Will Dodd return to lead the team. Will Drewery is coming into the 2026 OUA Golf Championships in great form, winning the Fall Kickoff from Guelph Lakes and has two top 10 finishes in his name as well. Drewery, the third-year management major from Hespeler, ON was in contention for the individual title at last year's championships, shooting an opening round 73. Will Dodd has a 2nd-place finish at the Fall Kickoff this season and had a strong showing at nationals, finishing T-48 in a field of 105 golfers after firing rounds of 74, 74 and 77. San Jose State transfer, Andreas Diogenous, has had a really good first season in Guelph, finishing in 2nd-place at the Toronto Invitational. Diogenous also has three top 12 placings in 2026. Carson Skinner is set to make his debut in his first OUA Golf Championships. Caleb Shorthouse is the final member of the men's team after earning his spot through a playoff.
