2025-26 Gryphons Men’s & Women’s Volleyball Schedule Announced

GUELPH, Ont. – On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Ontario University Athletics (OUA) released the 2025-26 schedules for men's and women's volleyball. The Guelph Gryphons men's and women's volleyball teams will officially get their new seasons underway on Friday, October 24 on the road, as they travel to London to face Western University in a season-opening doubleheader with the Mustangs. Daniel PickettThe Gryphons will then return to their home court for their 2025-26 home opener on Friday, November 7 when they welcome the Trent Excalibur to the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre. The Gryphons women's and men's volleyball teams will once again play a 20-game regular season schedule, with the 2025-26 OUA volleyball playoffs set to begin in late February (quarterfinal round of the OUA playoffs beginning on Saturday, February 20, 2026).  The 2025-26 OUA playoffs will culminate on Friday, March 6, 2026, with the playing of the Quigley Cup (women's OUA championship game) and Forsyth Cup (men's OUA championship game).
 
The U of G women's volleyball program enters into a new era under head coach, Natasha Spaling, who is set to begin her first season as head coach after having spent the previous four seasons with the program as an assistant. Payton KingThe Gryphon women narrowly missed out on the playoffs a season ago and will look to return to OUA postseason play in 2025-26. The Gryphon men put together a solid season in 2024-25, earning a playoff spot as the conference's No. 7-seed, falling in four sets in the OUA quarterfinals to the eventual OUA champion, Queen's Gaels. Head coach, Cal Wigston, returns for his 20th season in charge of the U of G men's volleyball program, including an unforgettable 2023-24 campaign in which the Gryphons won a program-record 15 games during the regular season en route to earning OUA bronze and a trip to nationals (first appearance at nationals in 36 years). Should the Gryphons earn a trip to nationals in March of 2026, the Gryphon men would be Windsor-bound, with the University of Windsor set to host the men's volleyball national championships. Should the Gryphon women make a run to nationals, the team would be headed west, with Trinity Western University set to host the women's volleyball national championships in Langley, BC.  For more information on the rest of the OUA men's and women's volleyball schedule visit oua.ca.
