GUELPH, Ont. – The Gryphons men's basketball team suffered a 67-61 defeat to the Brock Badgers on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 22, 2025) at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre. A low-scoring, physical affair between the Gryphons and Badgers saw the visitors from St. Catharines pull away in the 4th quarter. With Brock clinging to a one-point lead entering the final quarter, the Badgers would start to pull away, with Brock third-year guard Nemanja Sarkanovic making back-to-back lay ups midway through the 4th quarter to extend the Badgers lead to 59-49. Guelph would continue to push late, trimming the deficit to six on a few occasions but that would be as close as the Gryphons would get in the 67-61 loss. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 5-5 on the season, while the Badgers improve to 6-2.
Jack Tunstill led the Gryphons in both scoring (15 points) and rebounds (6), while fourth-year forward
Eric Armstrong chipped in with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Saturday afternoon's game marked Guelph's final home game of the 2025 calendar year, with the Gryphons next on their home court on January 9, 2026. But the Gryphons (5-5) still have two games remaining before the December break, with Guelph hitting the road for a pair of away games next week, beginning with a Wednesday night (Nov. 26) trip to Wilfrid Laurier University to take on the Golden Hawks (4-5), followed by a Friday night (Nov. 28) trip to the University of Waterloo to face the Waterloo Warriors (2-6).
