WINDSOR, Ont. - The Gryphons men's hockey team saw their impressive six-game win streak come to an end on Wednesday night (Nov. 19) in Windsor in a 4-0 loss to the Windsor Lancers. The Lancers scored three goals in the opening period of play, and added an empty-netter late in regulation, to hand Guelph their first loss since October 23. The Gryphons out-shot the Lancers, 39-33, on the night, but were unable to solve Windsor goalie, Max Donoso, who turned away all 39 shots sent his way for the shutout. Gryphons goalie,
Cal Schell, made 32 saves on the night in the loss. With the result, the Gryphons fall to 8-4-1 on the season (3rd in the OUA West Division), while the Lancers improve to 7-3-1 (4th in OUA West Division). The Gryphons, who sit just two points back of 1st-place in the tightly-contested OUA West standings, will return to the ice on Saturday night (Nov. 22) in London when they face off with the Western Mustangs (4-8-0) with a 7pm puck drop at Thompson Arena.
