Alexandra McDougall's remarkable 2025 continues as she has been named 'OUA Athlete of the Week.' The Port Perry, ON native can add provincial champion to her list of 2025 accomplishments as she was the first person to cross the line out of 94 racers to claim the women's individual championship at the 2025 OUA Cross Country Championships in Kingston on Saturday (Oct. 25). The fourth-year biomedical engineering major had a dominant race from start to finish, finishing the women's 8km race with a time of 26:50.5, which was :48 seconds ahead of her next closest racer. For McDougall, this marked her third race win of the season as she earned wins at the Vigars and Salter Western Invitational and Marauder BayFront Open. The 1st-place finish for McDougall also earned her OUA First Team All-Star status and MVP status as the individual race winner. The Gryphons women's cross country team narrowly missed out on a podium finish, coming in 4th-place in the overall team standings. McDougall and the rest of the Gryphon cross country team will head to Sherbrooke for their final event of the season in two weeks (Nov. 8) when they compete in the 2025 U SPORTS Cross Country Championships, hosted by Sherbrooke.
