GUELPH, Ont. – On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, Ontario University Athletics (OUA) released the 2023-24 schedules for men's and women's soccer. The Guelph Gryphons women's and men's varsity soccer teams will officially get their 2023 campaigns underway on Labour Day Monday (Monday, September 4, 2023) when they travel to London to face the Western Mustangs in their 2023 OUA regular season openers.
The 2023
home opener for the Gryphons is set for Sunday afternoon on September 10, with the Gryphons hosting the Western Mustangs for a Sunday afternoon doubleheader (1pm kickoff for the women's match, and 3:15pm kickoff for the men's match at the Gryphon Soccer Complex).

In total, the Guelph Gryphons women's and men's soccer teams will once again play a 12-game regular season schedule, with the 2023 OUA soccer playoffs set to begin in late October (preliminary round of OUA playoffs beginning on Wednesday, October 25, 2023).

The 2023 OUA playoffs will culminate on Saturday, November 4, with the playing of the OUA soccer gold medal games. The Gryphons women's soccer team, OUA champions in 2017, will take the field this fall in pursuit of the second OUA title in program history, while the U of G men, OUA champions in 2021, 2016 and 1990, head into the 2023 season in search of the fourth conference title in program history.
On the women's side, the 2023 U SPORTS soccer season culminates in Kingston, with Queen's University serving as hosts of the U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championships for the first time. On the men's side, the 2023 soccer season comes to an end in Sydney, Nova Scotia, with Cape Breton University serving as hosts of the U SPORTS Men's Soccer Championships for the first time.

Both national championship tournaments are set to take place from November 9-12, 2023.
A season ago, the Guelph Gryphons once again produced some impressive on-field results, including a pair of playoff victories. The Gryphon women put together a 6-2-4 (wins-losses-draws) record during the 2022 regular season, earning them the No. 3-seed in OUA West. The
U of G women defeated the Windsor Lancers in the opening round of OUA playoffs a season ago, before being edged out in penalties at York in the OUA quarterfinals. The Gryphon men had a similar story in 2022, boasting a 6-1-5 (wins-losses-draws) record during the 12-game regular season while also earning the No. 3-seed in OUA West. In the 2022 OUA playoffs, the Gryphons
defeated the Brock Badgers in penalty kicks in the opening round, before falling just short to the eventual OUA champion, McMaster Marauders, in the OUA quarterfinals.
Over the next few weeks, the OUA will continue to announced 2023-24 schedules, with volleyball and basketball next in line.
