Kingston, ON - Sunday in Kingston, the Gryphons Field Hockey team picked up wins over Queen's and York to finish the regular season with an 11-1 record, good for top spot in the OUA standings. The Gryphons and Toronto Varsity Blues both finished the season with 11-1 records and split their head-to-head series with one win each. However, in those two games, the Gryphons held an 11-10 edge in head-to-head goal differential, and as a result finish in top spot.

In Game 1 on Sunday morning the Gryphons squared off against the host Gaels. The Gryphons won 3-0 with goals coming from Ally Chute, Olivia Lane and Daniela Jelec. Later in the afternoon, the Gryphons faced the York Lions in what was their regular season finale. Knowing they needed two wins on Sunday to guarantee a first place finish in the standings, the Gryphons were able to avoid a slip up and earned a 3-1 victory over the Lions. In Game 2, reigning OUA Rookie of the Year Olivia Lane opened the scoring at the 30 minute mark to give Guelph a 1-0 lead at the half. In the second half, Ally Chute gave the Gryphons a 2-0 lead with her league leading 20th goal of the season. After York got on the board to make it a 2-1 game, the Gryphons would get another goal at the buzzer from Olivia Finch to make the final 3-1. Chute and Lane finish the year No. 1 and No. 2 in the OUA in scoring with 20 and 14 goals respectively.
