Gryphons drop game to undefeated Gaels


 
Guelph, Ont. -The Guelph Gryphons dropped a 22-3 final Friday night to the Queen's Gaels at Varsity Field in Guelph. The Gaels remain undefeated on the season with a 6-0 record while the Gryphons drop to 4-2.
 
The Gryphons were in tough against the undefeated Gaels team and fell behind early in the contest with a quick penalty goal scored by the Gaels in the opening minutes from Brendon McGovern. The Gryphons responded with some strong play themselves but were unable to breakthrough the Gaels tough defence.
 
The Gryphons scored their lone points of the contest off a penalty goal from Joe Newman in the first half. The Gryphons went scoreless in the second half. 
 
Leading the Gaels was McGovern with two converts and one penalty goal.
 
The Gryphons will close out their regular season next week on October 19th at RMC.
