OUA medals will be handed out on rugby pitches across Ontario on Saturday as teams will play in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) gold and bronze medal matches. As a result of being the top seed in the Russell Division, the No. 3 Queen's Gaels will host the No. 2 Guelph Gryphons in Kingston, Ont. for the gold medal, while the Waterloo Warriors host the McMaster Marauders for the bronze.
The four-time defending OUA champion Guelph Gryphons will look to win a fifth-straight championship, the 13
th in program history.  The Gryphs are coming off a 6-0 season which saw them score a remarkable 388 points while allowing a paltry eight against. Guelph's road to the gold medal match involved shutout wins over Brock in the quarter-finals and McMaster in the semifinals.
Britt Benn (Napanee, Ont.) leads the Guelph charge once again.  The five-time OUA all-star and 2012 Sheils Division MVP is coming of a regular season that saw her amass a league-leading 80 points on 16 tries. The Gryphs will also look to 2012 all-starÂ
MacKenzie Higgs (Aurora, Ont.) for secondary scoring.  Higgs registered five tries, nine converts and a penalty goal for 46 points during the regular season. Benn and Higgs are joined by four other 2012 divisional all-stars on the Guelph squad, including
 Morganne Linthwaite (Guelph, Ont.),Â
Caitlin Beaton (Clavering, Ont.), andÂ
Katie McNally(Guelph, Ont.).
The Queen's Gaels are looking for their first OUA gold medal in the history of the program. The Gaels have a rocky playoff history with Guelph. The Gaels have been eliminated for the OUA postseason by the Gryphons  in each of the past three seasons, including the 2010 gold medal contest. Queen's reached the finals after a quarter-final win over Trent and a tight semifinal victory over Waterloo.
Nadia Popov was a key contributor for Queen's in her rookie season. The Newmarket, Ont. native collected six tries and 11 converts for 52 points, good enough for second on the team. For her efforts, Popov was named the 2012 Russell Division rookie of the year and a divisional all-star.Â
Bronwyn Corrigan (Waterloo, Ont.) was the Gaels leading scorer with seven tries and 10 converts for 55 points, which earned her the first divisional all-star nod of her career.
The gold medal match will kick off at 1 p.m. from Nixon Field on the campus of Queen's University.
