Box Score
Carleton once again proved why they are the defending national champions with a 98-55 defeat of the Guelph Gryphon'stonight (Nov. 25) at the W.F. Mitchell Centre.

With the win, the Raven's improve to 5-0, while Guelph drops to 3-2 on the season.

Leading the balanced Raven's offence was Phillip Scrubb (Richmond, BC) with 18 points, while Elliot Thompson (Fredericton, NB) added 17 on 3-5 shooting from deep. Thomas Scrubb (Richmond, BC) added 14 points off the bench, and five Raven's in total scored in double figures.

Rookie Aron Campbell (Burlington, ON) came off the bench to lead the Gryphon's with 13 points, going 3-6 from three-point range. Daniel McCarthy (Guelph, ON), averaging over 20 points per game, was held to just nine points, and led the game with five turnovers. As a team, Guelph committed 21 turnovers in the game, compared to just 12 from Carleton.

Carleton held a huge advantage at the charity stripe, knocking down 31-42 freebees, while Guelph struggled getting to the rim, only attempting 15 free-throws, making eight.

Guelph stormed out to a quick 7-2 lead behind Kareem Malcolm (Brampton, ON), but a 7-0 run gave Carleton an 11-10 lead halfway through the quarter. The Ravens extended the lead to 18-10, with Thompson going 2-3 from three in the first. Carleton led 24-14 after the first, holding the lead throughout.

The second quarter was more of the same, with the Raven's shooting a blistering 50% from the field in the first half. Carleton used their size advantage to attack the rim throughout, attempting 22 free throws in the first half. Thompson led all scorers at the half with 13 points, with Scrubb adding 11.

Carleton exploded in the third quarter to put the game out of reach, outscoring the Gryphon's 30-10 in the quarter to take an 80-42 lead into the fourth. Campbell play was the lone bright spot in the game, with his ability to play solid man-to-man defence and knock down shots on full display.

The Gryphon's will hope to rebound when they take on the visiting Ottawa GeeGee's tomorrow night at the W.F. Mitchell Centre. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
