Gryphons Men's Rugby falls to Queens, looking forward to OUA Playoffs this week

On Saturday the Gryphons Men's Rugby Team made the long journey to Kingston to take on the Queen's Golden Gaels for their first game post team suspension.  Not getting a result that they were hoping for, the Gryphons went down in defeat 34-0.    The Gryphons just couldn't get going.  It may have been the 6 am bus time, the 4 hour drive or that the team hadn't played in four weeks but whatever it was, they just didn't have it.  There were some moments of brilliance but together by the team, but the Queen's defense was able to recover and prevent the team from scoring.  The 34 points that the team gave up was the most of the season. After the game, rookie John West was given man of the match honours by the Queen's players for his standout play in the losing effort. In other results from around the league, the Waterloo Warriors knocked off the Brock Badgers to gain 5th spot in the league.

With that win by the Warriors, the Gryphons retain their 4th place seeding and will host the Warriors in an OUA quarter final match up on Wednesday night.  Kick off will be at 8 pm on Varsity Field.
