University of Guelph Athletics

Maria Gallo (1996-2000) was a true pioneer in women’s rugby at the University of Guelph. The Guelph native led the Rugby Gryphons to four provincial titles and the inaugural CIAU National title in 1998 and silver in 1999.

During her career, she received numerous OUA and CIS accolades being named a two-time OUA all-star, two time CIAU tournament all-star, two-time CIAU Championship MVP and an All-Canadian in 1998.
