Geneviève Lalonde, Cross Country
Lalonde, a third year student from Moncton, NB claimed the women’s individual title at the CIS cross country championships this past Saturday held in Quebec City at the Plains of Abraham. Her gold medal propelled the women’s team to their seventh consecutive national title for the Guelph women. The Environmental Sciences student dominated the field of runners thanks to a five-kilometre time of 18:00.04.  She crossed the finish line seven seconds ahead of OUA champion, Tamara Jewett and earned her best ever CIS finish up from a bronze in 2010. She was named the CIS female athlete of the year and a first team All-Canadian.
