  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Larry Pearson has served as an assistant coach with the Gryphons men's volleyball program since the 2006-07 season.

A proud U of G alum (BSc, '72), Larry played three seasons of varsity volleyball with the Gryphons from 1969-1972. Shortly after his playing days, Larry would take over as head coach of the Gryphons men's volleyball program, leading the team to an OUA title during the 1977-78 season. To this day, it remains the only conference championship in program history. In 2018, Larry was inducted into the Gryphon Hall of Fame in the 'builder' category. That same year, the 1977-78 men's volleyball team, coached by Larry, was also inducted in the 'team' category.

Outside of his involvement at the collegiate level, Larry has also enjoyed a successful coaching stint at the high school level, where he led the Centennial senior boys volleyball team to a pair of OFSAA appearances in 2003 and 2004.

For nearly 20 years (1979-1998), Larry Pearson served as President and COO of the Guelph-based Linamar Corporation, where he played an instrumental role in helping shape the company into the second-largest automobile parts manufacturer in Canada. Larry also serves as Business Manager for Baseball Canada's National Junior Team.Â
