2012-13 Women's Ice Hockey Roster
Biography
The Gryphons are looking for Tamara to have a solid
rookie season as a power forward. Tamara is a real
character player who is a quiet leader on and off the
ice. She battles for every puck and is always willing
to pay the price to put it in the back of the net. She
shows great tenacity and desire to win every game. A
smooth stickhandler with soft hands, Tam is
unstoppable when she isolates the opposition one-onone.
Having committed to the University of Guelph
early in 2008, Tamara was on-board with the
Gryphon’s off-season workout program, allowing her
to increase speed and strength for her rookie season.
Pre-Guelph: Tamara is a native of Guelph, Ontario,
and played the 2007-08 season for the Cambridge
Junior AA Fury of the Provincial Women’s Hockey
League. In 32 regular season games, Tamara finished
fourth in scoring on the Fury, with 10 goals and 14
assists, for a total of 24 points. If you include
tournaments and playoffs, she accumulated 15 goals
and 22 assists, for an overall point total of 37 in 63
total games. She helped the Fury win two tournaments
and finish fourth in the PWHL, the most successful
year in the history of the franchise. In the 2006-07
season, Tamara played for the Guelph Midget AA
Thunder and was named Most Valuable Player.
