Bill returns for his 17th season as a member of the Gryphons coaching staff. This is his seventh season as the Special Forces Coordinator. The Gryphons had 11 OUA All-Stars come from special teams in the last six years. Bill is known for his innovation and creativity within the Gryphons kicking game. His role as the Director of Advancement includes attracting the best athletes, coaches and alumni support to the University of Guelph along with creating and updating Gryphon Football social media. Bill is a Learning Facilitator and Evaluator for Safe Contact and football coaching certification in Ontario.

Bill’s other experience in the past with the Gryphons has included coaching the defensive backs for eight years and coordinating the defence for two years. Outside of coaching for the Gryphons, Bill has coached for Team Ontario for eight seasons, coaching in the Canada Cup and the International Bowl.  Bill won OFA Major Coach of the Year in 2013. Bill has also coached the Guelph Bears in the OVFL for four years. He has been the Defensive Coordinator for Bishop MacDonell and St. James HS in Guelph. As a player for the Gryphons from 1994 to 1998, Bill was named 1994 Gryphon Rookie of the Year, 1996 OUAA All-Star and OUAA Interception Leader, he was a member of the 1996 Yates Cup Championship team and was awarded the 1998 Gryphon Defensive Player of the Year award. Bill lives in Guelph with his wife Leith and his daughter Nahla. He teaches Math and Physical Education to grade 7/8 students at John Galt Public School.
