OTTAWA, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons women's hockey team suffered their first loss of the 2026-27 season on Saturday night in Ottawa, with the Gryphons shutout in a 1-0 loss to the Carleton Ravens. The Gryphons, who 24 hours earlier had opened the new season with a win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees, were unable to solve Carleton goalie Emily Davidson, who turned away all 20 shots sent her way on the night. The lone goal of the game came at the 16:29 mark of the 2nd period with Carleton's Erica Buckley scoring the game-winner. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 1-1-0 on the season while Carleton improves to 1-1-1. The Gryphons will now return home for a pair of games at the Gryphon Centre Arena, with the Gryphons hosting the Queen's Gaels on Friday night (Oct. 23) followed by a Saturday night home matchup with the Nipissing Lakers on Oct. 24.
