MVB: Joshua Glasbergen and Tian Harcevic Recognized as OUA Announces Men's Volleyball All-Stars

BURLINGTON, Ont. – A pair of Guelph Gryphons men's volleyball players were recognized on Tuesday, March 4 as Ontario University Athletics (OUA) announced the major award winners, all stars and all-rookie team for the 2024-25 men's volleyball season. Middle blocker Joshua Glasbergen was named an OUA Second Team All-Star while setter Tian Harcevic was named to the OUA All-Rookie Team.

For a second consecutive season, fourth-year middle blocker Joshua Glasbergen has been named an OUA Second Team All-Star. Glasbergen, one of the top middle blockers in the province, was one of the key cogs in his team's success in 2024-25. The environmental science major from Burlington, Ontario finished the season with 18 solo blocks (11th in OUA), 46 assisted blocks (8th in OUA), 64 total blocks (7th in OUA) and averaging just under a block per set at 0.97 (6th in OUA). Glasbergen was the team's fourth-leading point-getter with 125 points. One of Glasbergen's best attacking games came on January 18, 2025 where he finished with a season-high 9 kills against Queen's and one of his top games defensively came against McMaster on November 9, 2024 where he had an impressive 6 solo blocks. On senior night in his final home game against Western on February 15, 2025, he finished the match with 9 total blocks.

First-year setter Tian Harcevic has shown plenty of growth in his first season with the Gryphons as he's been named to the OUA All-Rookie Team. The management economics and finance major saw action in 14 games this season as he put his imprint on the Gryphon season when 2025 hit, starting in 8 games. Harcevic in limited action still finished the season with 349 assists and 92 digs. The Oakville, Ontario native's best game of the season came on January 12, 2025 at TMU where he had a season-high 52 assists leading his team to a three set victory that night. Harcevic was impressive for the Gryphons in their playoff game on February 21 where he had 40 assists.
