WINDSOR, Ont. | LONDON Ont. – The Gryphons men's basketball team hit the road on the weekend for a pair of away games at the Windsor Lancers and Western Mustangs. On Friday night (Nov. 7) at the University of Windsor's Toldo Lancer Centre, the Gryphons fell just short, losing 93-91 to the Lancers. On Saturday night at Western University's Alumni Hall, the Gryphons were unable to hand Western their first loss of the season, with the undefeated Mustangs improving to 6-0 on the season with a 79-69 home win.

After four straight home games to begin the 2025-26 OUA regular season schedule, the Gryphons hit the road for the first time on Friday night (Nov. 7) traveling to the University of Windsor's Toldo Lancer Centre to take on the Lancers. The Gryphons, who won on Windsor's home court in their only trip to Windsor a season ago, had their sights set on stealing another road win at the Lancers, with Gryphons third-year forward
Emmanuel Black (Brampton, ON) hitting a shot at the buzzer at the end of the 3rd quarter to give the Gryphons an 8-point lead (72-64) heading to the final quarter. But in the 4th quarter, Windsor would outscore Guelph 29-19 to escape with a 93-91 victory. In the loss, the Gryphons had six different players score in double figures, with fourth-year forward

Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025 | Undefeated Mustangs Improve to 6-0 with 93-79 Win Over Guelph in London
Saturday night (Nov. 8), the Gryphons made their way to Western University's Alumni Hall for a tough road test against an undefeated Mustangs team, who entered the game with a 5-0 record. The Gryphons were unable to recover after a slow start, with Western outscoring Guelph 28-15 in the opening quarter. The Mustangs were led on the night by fifth-year forward Matteo Zagar who had 30 points (13-21 shooting) and 15 rebounds. The Gryphons got a team-high 18 points off the bench from third-year forward
Emmanuel Black (7-9 shooting, 6 rebounds in 15 minutes), while fourth-year forward
Eric Armstrong led the starters with 16 points (8-12 shooting), 8 assists, 6 rebounds and 1 block.
The Gryphons record now sits at 3-3 on the season, with the team returning to their home court for a Friday night (Nov. 14) matchup with the Lakehead Thunderwolves (4-2), followed by a Saturday night (Nov. 15) away game at the University of Toronto against the Varsity Blues (3-3).
