WATERLOO, Ont. – The Guelph Gryphons women's basketball team extended their overall win streak to six games with a 64-55 road win over the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on Wednesday night in Waterloo. A balanced attack for the Gryphons saw three players score in double figures (
Alexis Wright and
Hannah Bourdon with 16 points each,
Christina Morra with 14 points).The Gryphons dominated on the glass, out-rebounding Laurier 43 to 29 on the night. The Golden Hawks were able to keep it close throughout the night, with just two points separating the two sides midway through the 4th quarter, with Guelph leading 51-49 with 5:30 minutes remaining in the final quarter. Alexis Wright all making key baskets down the stretch to help lead the Gryphons to the nine-point road win. With the win, Guelph improves to 9-2 on the season and remain in top spot in the OUA West Division standings, while the Laurier Golden Hawks fall to 3-7 on the season with the loss. Next up for the Gryphons, one final game for the calendar year of 2025, with Guelph (9-2) back on the road once again on Friday night (Nov. 28) as they travel to the University of Waterloo to face the Waterloo Warriors in the final game before the holiday break.
