KINGSTON, Ont. – The Gryphons women's volleyball team continue their strong start to the season as they improve to 5-1 on the season following a weekend sweep over the RMC Paladins in Kingston.
Friday, Nov. 14, 2025 | Dominant Gryphon Performance in Straight Sets Win
A complete team effort powers the Gryphons to a straight sets win over the RMC Paladins on Friday night with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-19. Guelph's finishing was on point as they closed the match with 40 kills to RMC's 14, to go along with their 10 aces led by
Maia Dan's four aces in the victory. Gryphons also had 33 assists as
Maya Slavcev had 14 and Sophie Sommerfedlt had 13 with both setters splitting time in the win.
Jordan Vang led all players with 11 kills and 14 total points.
Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025 | Gryphons Sweep Weekend Doubleheader for 5th Straight Win
On Saturday afternoon in Kingston, the Gryphons swept the weekend doubleheader with RMC in a 26-16, 25, 21, 25-21 straight sets win. The Gryphs were led by
Maia Dan and
Sloane Fortin in the victory. Dan, a fourth-year outside hitter led all players with 11 kills and 14 points and collected 9 digs while second-year outside hitter
Sloane Fortin finished 10 kills and 12 points. First-year setter
Maya Slavcev made her first start and was fantastic with 32 assists.
The Gryphons (5-1) will be tested on the road this weekend when they take on the 5-1 McMaster Marauders in Hamilton on Friday (Nov. 21) and Saturday (Nov. 22).
