GUELPH, Ont. – On Friday night (Oct. 10) at the Gryphon Soccer Complex, No. 7-ranked Gryphons women's soccer team battled back from an early 2-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 draw in their final game of the regular season. With the draw, the Gryphons finish the regular season with a record of 8-1-3 (win-loss-draw) and clinch the top seed in the OUA West Division with 27 points. The Gryphs faced an early deficit in the first five minutes of the game as Laurier scored twice to take the early 2-0 lead. Guelph would get one back in the 21

Olivia Rizakos who was able to tuck her shot away into the low right corner for her OUA leading 12
th goal of the season. The Gryphons would find the equalizer in the 72
nd minute when
Katie Kimens was able to find the back of the net for the second time this season to make the score 2-2 as the Gryphons were able to earn the hard fought point in the draw. With the draw, Laurier finishes their regular season with a record of 5-3-4.
The Gryphons will now turn their focus to the postseason as they've earned a bye to the OUA Quarterfinal stage. They'll open their postseason on Satruday, October 18 when they host a quarterfinal matchup from the Gryphon Soccer Complex with kickoff at 1pm.
