GUELPH, Ont. – Saturday night (Jan. 25, 2025) at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre, the Gryphons men's basketball team suffered a 73-70 loss to the Waterloo Warriors.
Eric Armstrong (16 points) and
Isaiah Odle-Clarke (14 points) led the way for a balanced Guelph attack in a game that was tight throughout, but an 8-0 run by the Warriors late in the 4th quarter would ultimately help the visitors from Waterloo escape with the three-point victory. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 5-12 on the season, while the Waterloo Warriors move to 6-10. Saturday night's game also marked the Gryphons annual 'Alumni Night' game, with Gryphon basketball alum in attendance at the GGAC. The Gryphons (5-12) now have five games remaining in their 2024-25 OUA regular season schedule, and will be back on home court on Friday, Jan. 31 to host the Windsor Lancers (9-8). The Gryphons defeated the Lancers back on Jan. 18 in Windsor, and will look to sweep the season series on Friday in Guelph as the Gryphons continue their push for an OUA playoff spot.
