The Gryphons enter Saturday's game coming off a tightly-contested loss to now No. 7-ranked Queen's Gaels (4-1) on September 21 in Kingston, where the Gaels came away with a 24-18 win. The No. 10-ranked Gryphons will now turn their attention to the Waterloo Warriors, who are coming off a loss to No. 1-ranked Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks. The Warriors are still seeking their first win of the 2024 season as they've been outscored 167-60 through four games played. The Gryphon offence will be powered by their rushing attack, led by
Donavin Milloy.

Milloy had an outstanding game on the ground a week ago, with 8 rushes for 123 yards, which included his 99-yd touchdown run against the Gaels. Guelph sits 3rd in the OUA averaging 218 rushing yards per game and now face a Waterloo run defence that sits second from the bottom of the OUA, allowing 191.3 rushing yards per game. Gryphons fourth-year receiver,
Vyshonne Janusas, returned to the lineup last week and settled back in nicely as he had 5 receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown.
The Gryphon defence will look to carryover their performance from last week where they held the Gaels to only 109 yards on the ground. The Gryphon defence has been great against the run all season, only allowing 111.2 yards per game (2nd in OUA) as the front seven will look to maintain their stout play against the run.
Curtis Woodmansey, one of the leaders on the defence will try to build off his play from last week will look to extend his sack streak to three games. Second-year defensive back,
Nathaniel Slawter will look for a repeat performance in secondary after he made 5 tackles and recorded an interception.
Gianni Green will seek to continue his fine play in the secondary after he was responsible for two pass breakups last week while recording a pick-six earlier in the season in the Gryphons season-opening win over Carleton.
The Gryphons and Warriors met last season in Waterloo (Sept. 30, 2023), with the Warriors coming away with a 30-23 win at Warrior Field, snapping a 14-game losing streak to the Gryphons. Guelph leads the all-time head-to-head 25-13. The last time these two sides met
in Guelph was on Oct. 16, 2021 where the Gryphons would come away with the 27-10 win.
Kickoff for our annual U of G homecoming game is set for 1pm, with the pre-game show with our GryphVision team set to get underway at 12:50pm. The action from Alumni Stadium can be seen live online on
www.oua.tv and broadcast live on Rogers TV Cable 20. Gryphon fans can also follow along on Twitter / X (
