GUELPH, Ont. – The Gryphons women's basketball team extended their win streak to five games after a 82-52 Saturday night (Nov. 9) home win over the Toronto Varsity Blues. With the win, the Gryphons improve to 5-1 on the season while the Varsity Blues drop to 1-5. The win also keeps the Gryphons a the top of the OUA West standings.
The Gryphons would ride the momentum from their win over TMU on Wednesday night (Nov. 6) as they got off to a quick start, opening the game on a 17-2 run. The early run set the tone for the night for the team as the defence would hold Toronto to 25 points in the first half to take a 46-25 lead heading into halftime. The Gryphons would outscore the Varsity Blues 20-17 in the third before scoring 16 in the final quarter to seal the win on home court.

Hannah Bourdon had an impressive night for the Gryphons, scoring a game high 17 points to go along with her 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
Julia Colavecchia scored 15 points on the night while
Delaney Cortes came off the bench and scored 10 points in the win. An outstanding team performance which saw 12 Gryphon student-athletes on the court and all 12 players recording a point on Saturday.
The No.10-ranked Gryphons (5-1) will travel to Thunder Bay for a Friday night (Nov. 15) matchup with the Lakehead Thunderwolves (1-5) with opening tip scheduled for 6pm. The game can be seen live online on oua.tv.
