MHKY RECAP: TMU Win 4-2 in Guelph to Snap Gryphons Three-Game Win Streak

GUELPH, Ont. - Friday night (Nov. 10) at the Gryphon Centre Arena, the visiting TMU Bold handed the Gryphons men's hockey team just their second loss on home ice this season, with TMU skating to a 4-2 road win. The Gryphons entered Friday night's game with a 5-1 record on home ice this season, but TMU scored twice in the 2nd period and took a 3-1 lead to the final frame. A goal from Gryphon forward Giordano Biondi in the 3rd period made it a one-goal game, with TMU's lead trimmed to 3-2, but the Bold would add an empty netter to seal the win and improve to 6-3-0 on the season. With the loss, the Gryphons win streak ends at three, while the Gryphons record on the season falls to 6-5-0.

Gryphons netminder, Tanner Wickware, impressed in the losing effort, turning away 44 of the 47 shots sent his way on the night. Rookie defenceman Ian Ferguson scored his first goal of his OUA career on a point shot through traffic in the 1st period to open the scoring. The Gryphons return to action on Thursday, Nov. 16 with another home game against a Toronto-based opponent, this time in the form of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues visiting the Gryphon Centre.
