GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons women's rugby team has taken one step closer to defending their OUA title. On a sunny, Saturday afternoon at the University of Guelph, the Gryphons rolled to a 58-0 victory over the Brock Badgers in OUA semifinal action. The Gryphons led 38-0 at halftime, and added 20 more points in the second half, to advance to the 2022 conference championship game.

Abby Auger all recorded tries for the Gryphons, ranked No. 5 in the country in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 polls. The Gryphons will now face the No. 1-ranked Queen's Gaels in the OUA gold medal game next Saturday (Oct. 29) in Kingston. It will be a re-match of the 2021 OUA title game, which the Gryphons won 33-23 to claim the OUA banner, with Queen's later going on to claim the 2021 U SPORTS title. With Saturday's win over Brock, the Gryphons also book a spot at this year's national championships, with the 2022 U SPORTS Women's Rugby Championships set to take place November 2-6 in Victoria, B.C.
