GUELPH, Ont. - OUA men's basketball action finally returned to the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre on Friday night (Oct. 15). The Gryphons, playing in their first of three preseason games, picked up a 76-68 victory over the visiting University of Toronto Varsity Blues. The Gryphons used a huge 1st quarter, jumping out to a 28-6 lead on the Varsity Blues after the opening 10 minutes of play, and took a 24-point lead into the locker room at halftime. Malcolm Glanville added 14 points to go with 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Gryphons will continue their preseason schedule on Wednesday (Oct. 20) when they host the Sheridan Bruins for a 7pm game. The Gryphs will then head to Ryerson on Friday (Oct. 22) to wrap up exhibition play. The 2021-22 OUA regular season tips off on Wednesday, Nov. 3 in Windsor. The Gryphons first home regular season game is set for Sunday, Nov. 6 (4pm).
