LONDON, Ont. - Friday night at Western University, the Guelph Gryphons women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 win and in the process locked up top spot in the OUA West standings with one game still to play on the regular season schedule. The lone goal of the match came in the 41st minute. After a strike from Katya Tarasoff rattled off the cross bar, a scramble inside the Mustangs' six-yard box would ensue. Eventually it would be Jenna Holtz side-footing home to put the Gryphons ahead, helping the Gryphons push their win streak to four in a row. 

As a result of finishing in the top two in their division, the Gryphons have earned a bye through the opening round of the playoffs and will host an OUA quarter-final on Sunday, October 28. Before that, however, the Gryphons will wrap up their regular season with a Sunday (Oct. 21) afternoon match at Windsor. Game time is set for 1pm.
