THUNDER BAY, ON - The University of Guelph women's volleyball team completed a strong road weekend by sweeping the Lakehead Thunderwolves 3-0 Saturday night in Thunder Bay. Set scores were 25-17, 25-22 & 25-15. Unlike Friday night, the Gryphons had strong starts in each set. The first set saw Guelph jump out to an early 6-0 start and maintained the lead throughout winning 25-17. Set 2 was much closer throughout the beginning of the set with the Gryphons leading only 16-14 at the technical timeout. Guelph played steady later on never letting Lakehead get on any runs and took the set 25-22. The third set had the Gryphons again jumping on top 5-0 early. The Thunderwolves narrowed the lead to 2 points but a 12-4 run allowed Guelph to finish the match with. 25-15 win.

Cayte Wilson did a great job of distributing the ball to all hitters."
Maddie Dedecker led the offence with 14 points (11 kills, 2 aces, 1 block) followed by
Victoria Golebiowski with 13 (12 kills, 1 block) and
Libby Donevan with 12 (8 kills, 4 blocks). The Gryphons will return home next weekend on Saturday when they host the Windsor Lancers at 12pm followed by Senior Day on Sunday against Western at 12pm.
