NORTH BAY, Ont. - Saturday night in North Bay, the Gryphons women's volleyball team suffered a 3-sets-to-1 loss to the Nipissing Lakers. Set scores were 14-25, 22-25, 25-21 & 22-25. With the result, the Gryphons fall to 1-7 on the season while Nipissing improves to 4-2.
Rookie
Jessica Chung helped lead the way for the Gryphons with 10 kills and 6 digs (12.5 points). Fellow rookie
Ashley Vang also had a good night, racking up 9 kills and 13 digs (10.5 points).
Tara Tanasijevic, another first year player for the Gryphs, led the team with 17 digs on the night.
Saturday's match capped a four-game road trip for the Gryphons, who will next be in action on Friday, November 24 when they host the undeafeated Ryerson Rams (6-0). Match time is set for 6pm at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre and can be seen live online at oua.tv.
