OTTAWA, ON - Friday night at the Ravens Nest, the Gryphons men's basketball team lost 90-54 to the No. 1-ranked Carleton Ravens. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 3-8 on the season while the Ravens improve to 11-0.
Back on Tuesday, the Carleton Ravens racked up a stunning 41-point victory over the No. 2-ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees. Three nights later, the top-ranked Ravens continued their fine form, this time to the tune of a 36-point victory over the visiting Guelph Gryphons. The Gryphs trailed by 15 after 1 and 24 at the half. Carleton out-rebounded the Gryphons 50-29 on the night and made 27 trips to the free throw line compared to just 2 free throw attempts for Guelph.
Daniel Dooley was the Gryphons leading scorer Friday night with 8 points on 3-of-7 shooting.
Despite the fact that the Gryphs have now suffered five straight losses, they remain in a playoff spot, sitting 3rd in the OUA Central Division. The Gryphons have little time to reflect on their Friday night loss to the No. 1-ranked Ravens as they will be right back in action on Saturday night against the No. 2-ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees (10-1).Â
